GREEK MYTH ABOUT HOW A NYMPH TURNED INTO THE FLOWER SYMBOL OF ETERNAL DEVOTION AND LOVE
The water nymph Clizia fell in love with Apollo, God of the Sun, without being loved in return. The girl tried in vain to earn Apollo’s love and resigned, began to pass the days following the course of the chariot of the Sun up into the sky, crying and refusing to touch food. Until, consumed by love, she turned into a flower that even to this day follow the sun.
